A Collaborative Record of Kurdistan’s Wildlife
Kurdistan Biodiversity platform is a multilingual initiative to document the animals, plants, and important biodiversity areas of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. We bring together field observations, public data, and mapping tools, so that the plant and animal species of the region become more visible and easier to search, study, and protect. This platform is overseen by CLIMATE.KRD which specializes in environmental activism and research, as an entity of the Kurdistan Foundation.
It is run by ClimateKRD, the climate action agency of Kurdistan Foundation.

Thank you for contributing to Kurdistan's biodiversity record. Please only submit photos you've personally taken within the Kurdistan Region. Tell us the species if you know it — if not, our team will help identify it. For location, a general area is fine; you don't need exact coordinates, especially for sensitive or endangered species. All submissions are reviewed by our team before appearing on the site.
