- It was historically recorded in Harrir Dagh, Zakho, and Mergasour, with a herd recorded in the Barzan area in 2014. A small population of this species is suspected to remain in the Mergasour area close to the border with Turkey. Governorate: Erbil; Duhok

This species is active throughout the day and night, with activity reaching a peak at dawn and dusk. It is either solitary or lives in family groups.
