An endemic lizard of the Kurdistan Region, this species was described for the first time in 2009 from Sheraswar Cave on Safeen Mountain, Erbil Governorate. Little is known about its biology and behavior. It is a nocturnal species that spends the daytime resting in caves and rock crevices. Although its diet has not been studied, it is believed to feed primarily on insects and other small invertebrates.
