About

I have loved nature and wildlife since childhood. In 2011, after graduating from college, I returned to my village and began taking photographs—a passion I continue to pursue today.
My work has focused exclusively on Erbil Governorate. I have explored its mountains, valleys, forests and riverbanks countless times, documenting 254 bird species, numerous wild mammals and several reptile species. These experiences have given me a strong knowledge of the region’s birds and wildlife.
Three years ago, I decided to write a book about the birds I have documented, as a small contribution to my country. Now in its final stages, the book brings together my years of experience for others who share a love of nature, especially birds. I hope it will help build a deeper connection between people and wildlife, and encourage us to safeguard our beautiful environment for future generations.
