Spring Migration Brings Record Numbers of White Storks to Duhok Wetlands

This year's spring migration count along the wetlands outside Duhok recorded the highest number of White Storks since volunteer counts began, with several pairs observed settling in to nest on utility poles and old structures nearby.

White Storks are a Breeding Summer Visitor across much of the region, and nesting pairs are a welcome sign for local wetland health. Volunteers are continuing weekly counts through the rest of the breeding season.
